3D Modeling an RC Car replacement part

One of the axles on our remote control car broke! So using a pair of calipers we measured all the dimensions and created a 3D model of the part from primitives. Then we 3D printed a replacement and returned the car to operation!

This is such a great use of 3D Modeling and Printing to solve the issues you have at home. It really goes to show how useful and important 3D technology is nowadays and how anyone can use it. What material did you use and would suggest it or is there another material which may work better?

Thank you for the kid words. I used standard PLA. For the application here the PLA worked fine but I'm sure ABS or PETG would be better long term.

A good example of the application of 3D printing of car parts. In the process of operating remote-controlled cars, it is always necessary to replace parts. I also want to note that you have produced a fairly accurate 3D model of the part you need.
